The Kaftans Worth Buying
A beautiful kaftan is the ultimate warm-weather wardrobe staple—effortless, elegant, comfortable, and versatile enough to take you from the beach to dinner with ease. Here are the kaftans worth buying this season.
There are few pieces in a wardrobe that feel as effortless and as elevated as a beautiful kaftan (also spelled “caftan.”) Comfortable, chic, and versatile, a great kaftan is the epitome of easy dressing.
You can throw it over your swimsuit with flip-flops and sunglasses for a relaxed beachside lunch, or swap in leather sandals, gold hoops, and a clutch for an easy dinner look. The beauty of the kaftan lies in its ability to move seamlessly through the day, adapting to every occasion without ever feeling overdone. And they are SO comfortable to wear!
I have long embraced the art of wearing kaftans as dresses, transforming what was once considered a poolside cover-up into a sophisticated day-to-night staple. Whether worn for a steamy day in the city, a holiday getaway, or an evening gathering, the kaftan offers a refined take on relaxed dressing. Bonus points if the kaftan has pockets.

The Long Short & Capri Pants Worth Buying
Long shorts and capri pants are making a polished comeback for summer. From tailored Bermuda shorts to sleek knit capris, these are the effortless styles bringing a refined, city-ready feel to warm-weather dressing.
There's no denying it — longer shorts and capri pants are a great way to feel pulled together during the hot summer months.
What makes Bermuda shorts and capri pants so appealing is their versatility. They offer the ease and comfort of warm-weather dressing while still feeling appropriate for office days or dinner plans. I've especially been drawn to styles with clean tailoring, soft structure, and fabrics that work easily from day to night. Paired with a button-down, slim tank, ballet flats, sneakers, or sandals, these silhouettes instantly create that effortless, understated look that's practical while always looking polished. They give you more coverage without sacrificing style. Win-win!
Here are the styles I think are worth the get:
Reformation Drew Short These low-rise, knee-length shorts strike the perfect balance between relaxed and tailored. My favorite!
Banana Republic High-Rise Italian Wool Bermuda Short These lightweight wool Bermuda shorts feel sophisticated without trying too hard. Ideal for dressing up with a blazer or down with a simple top and flats.
Uniqlo Jersey Pleated Long Short An easy everyday option that still feels polished. The jersey fabric makes these incredibly comfortable, while the pleated silhouette keeps them looking elevated — perfect for errands, travel days, or casual dinners. I love the three color options too.
Zara Denim Capri Pant The slim shape pairs perfectly with sandals, mesh flats, or a kitten heel for evening.
Reformation Jill Cropped Knit Pant Fitted, flattering, and incredibly versatile — these work beautifully with oversized shirting or a tank top.
White Denim Worth Buying
Memorial Day weekend always feels like the unofficial start of white denim season. From timeless Levi’s 501s to modern barrel and wide-leg styles, these are the white jeans and shorts worth buying right now.
Memorial Day weekend has always felt like the unofficial start of white denim season.
Personally, I’m a believer in white jeans year-round, but there’s something about the Memorial holiday weekend when they feel like the perfect option to wear to a bbq gathering.
Crisp white denim has become a true wardrobe staple. The right pair works well and looks polished with a blazer, a striped sweater, a classic white tee, or oversized button-down.
Stylewise, I am personally drawn to straight-leg, wide-leg, and barrel styles but it is such an individual choice. It’s really up to you and what you feel most confident wearing.
Here's what I think is worth buying right now:
Straight Leg: Levi’s 501
There's a reason the 501 has been around forever. The fit is timeless and they work with everything from loafers to sandals to sneakers. Tonne Goodman, who spent over 20 years at Vogue as Fashion Director and now serves as their Sustainability Editor, has worn these as part of her personal uniform for years. I used to live on the same street as Tonne in the West Village and would spot her in them regularly — and she'd show up to appointments at our office in them too. If they are good enough for Tonne, they are good enough for me!

Favorite Barrel: Zara
My very first post for The Get was about Zara's barrel jeans, so naturally the white version had to make this list.I love this pair because the shape feels modern without looking overly exaggerated.

Favorite Wide-Leg: Agolde & Nili Lotan
The Agolde Ren and Nili Lotan Tribeca Jeans jeans are structured enough to look polished, but relaxed enough to wear casually during the day. I especially love wide-leg white denim paired with minimal sandals, a tank, and cashmere sweater.

Both styles have that slightly vintage, broken-in feel and are easy to wear all summer.

The jeans I keep buying in a new color.
I really wanted barrel jeans but didn't want to spend $200+ on the pair I had my eye on from Agolde. Enter: Zara. I bought them in light blue first. Went back for a darker wash. Then months later, went searching for a black pair. I now own all three and wear them on repeat — they are comfortable enough to wear on flights to LA and Europe, dressed up, dressed down, every version of a day. They travel well, style up or down effortlessly, and make everything else in my closet look more intentional.
A great pair of jeans is the foundation. This is mine! xx
